Few shirts from that period are remembered as instantly as this one, largely because the front breaks every convention with a diagonal colour block running from shoulder to chest. The fabric is flexible and manages sweat well, so it suits a recreational kickabout just as comfortably as it does a frame on the wall. White contrast stitching traces the chest and sleeve lines, adding depth to the royal blue base, and the upper inlay brings red and white into the composition.
